rie's ickle birthday thot

Dear Chael,

Words are no longer enough when it comes to thanking God for this friendship He has given me. Every birthday, we seek out new words and words become almost mere words. Well, I guess as long as the meaning behind the words are deepened each time, the repetition of words is not the main cause of concern. haha.

"A friend loves at all times, And a brother is born for adversity." [Proverbs 17:17]

As we see each other learn and help each other grow amidst circumstances, I'm glad that we're still standing (and still friends too haha). I'm thankful that the Lord has preserved us and our friendship. I'm thankful that the Lord has truly blessed us. I hope that through this blog collection of messages, you'll be reminded of how truly blessed you are. And upon remembering that, to respond in a renewed love for Him.

Expressing love is not just about words. It's about what we do, whether noticeable or not. As it says in my birthday song:

"Lord you've given me so much. Friends and loved ones surround my day. Yet in one who gave His life, I found the perfect peace, I found the perfect expression of love in this world - help me to never stop, never stop searching for ways I can serve You more."

Even though the future ahead is grey and uncertain and we might not see much of each other in the next two years, it is our commitment to the Lord and to each other to pray, to continue standing steadfast, to continue growing. Such that when we meet we will be able to testify of the Lord's goodness in our lives, as if nothing had ever changed. Because the Lord will never change. Even when we're not there for you, He will be. We thank God for friends and numberless blessings, but ultimately, thank God for the greatest blessing of all - Christ. (:

If not for our common faith, like I always said, it would be hard imagining you and I becoming friends. Haha. I love you chael for being that sister-in-Christ, who knows me well, listens to me and never judges me. Thank you for being Christ to me.

"I thank my God upon every remembrance of you." [Philippians 1:3]

His Love and mine,
rie
